You can read this...
The LiquidSunlight project exists with the aim of delivering personal experiences. I work with each image till I feel it can
deliver a quality experience to the observer. I don't want to tell you what that experience should be, what you should be
thinking and feeling, what it means; I merely wish to provide something that can create a quality experience within you. Why
am I not telling you? Because that would be to entirely miss the point, this is your experience, what I think is not what
you think and what I feel is not what you feel.
I believe that real art is something that causes a response in the viewer by creating a personal experience of... something
in that viewer. I consider anything that generates an experience in us to be art. Bad art is art you don't care about, it
is meaningless and irrelevant to you. Good art is art that causes you to feel something. Even if you strongly feel it is really
bad art then at least it has created some feeling in you.
My definition is not perfect, I am sure many disagree with it. It is one of the ironies of Human life that the more we seek
to define something the more we seem to find things that contradict our definition. Therefore, I have tried to look at what
art does to create my own definition and it is this definition that guides my work.
I believe that the better the art the better the experience. A large part of that depends on the skill of the artist but
it also depends on the observer to engage the art. Only when both really engage with the art can its beauty be revealed.
Let the images flow through you and bring sensations to your mind, explore them both on the screen and in yourself and ask
yourself, outloud (and why not-is it so silly?), what do I feel?
